“Make this her best Christmas ever. Buy her a new stove!” That was a typical advertisement in newspapers and magazines in the first half of last century.
My searches of archives always uncover numerous pictures of washing machines with red holiday bows attached, or happy moms kissing dads in appreciation for new refrigerators.
The way to mom’s heart was rather utilitarian back then, apparently.
But times are changing, in particular at firms producing such familiar products. And change extends into more recent areas of focus in the home, such as Internet carriers.
