The lovely hill station Dalhousie is a hilly state of Himachal Pradesh. The hill resort of Dalhousie has a charm of its own. The deodars and the pines, the cottages and the villas enhance the beauty of Dalhousie. The ravishing rhododendrons, the gorgeous greens and the pristine air add to the beauty of Dalhousie.
The beautifully embroidered Chamba shawls, the Chamba chappals, cane baskets, woolens, and the dolls are the things which one would like to buy from Dalhousie. Walnuts, chilies, Strawberries and the beautiful alpine flowers are the jewels of Dalhousie.
Dalhousie is situated in the Dhauladhar range of the Himalayas. The sunshine accompanied with the forests of pine and oak, beautiful natural scenery and the slopes of the Dhauladhar range attracted the British. From that time Dalhousie has became the favorite tourists spot.
CLIMATE
The temperature of Dalhousie in summers is 30 degree C and in winter it is almost 0 degree C. Heavy woolens are required in winter and light woolens or tropicals in summer. The best time to visit this hill station is between mid May and mid October.
HOW TO REACH
By Air: The nearest airport is at Gaggal (Kangra).
By Rail: This city is well connected to Amritsar, Jammu, Delhi and Jalandhar.
By Road: Onward journey from Pathankot to Chamba and Dalhausie is by road. Punjab and Himachal Roadways run services, as do private operators.

Kjajjiar (7 kms)
For the nature lovers and the adventure seekers, Khajjiar is a paradise. The beautiful meadow, lovely lake and the cedar trees increase the beauty of Khajjiar. The ancient, golden domed temple of Khajinag is worth visiting. You can also enjoy the nine-hole golf course here.
Chamba (56 kms)
The Lakshminarayana temple in Chamba is worth visiting.. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu.Other worth visiting places in Chamba are the Rang Mahal, the Bhuri Singh Museum, which exhibits the paintings, sculptures, stone inscriptions, wonderful embroideries, ancient weapons, and other rare artifacts.
Palampur
Palampur is a hill resort, which is famous for the valley of flowers. Roses, gardenias, teagardens, brooks, rice fields make the place more lovely. One can enjoy trekking in and around Palampur.
Bir
Bir is an excellent tour options in the Dauladhar range. Bir is famous for its popular annual fair that is a part of the Holi Festival.
Billing
14 km away from Bir is billing. Billing is famous for the venue of an annual hang gliding tournament. It is one of the finest sites for hang gliding in the world.
Bajinath
It is a pilgrimage for the Hindus in the Dauladhar range. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. People of this place have a strong believe that a visit to this place will be a boon to them and they will be freed of all ailments. The water at Baijnath is believed to possess medicinal properties.
