Fuel price hike to help PSU oil companies : said Govt.
Enhance in fuel prices is among the remedial measures that the government is looking at to protect the interests of state-run oil marketing companies after global crude rose above USD 130 a barrel on yesterday.
Petroleum Minister Murli Deora told : “I cannot rule in or rule out anything at this stage,” when asked if increasing petrol and diesel prices was an option.
“We are discussing all possible measures to help and protect our PSUs. Some remedial measures should be taken but I would like to assure the public that there is no need to panic. We will protect their interest (as well),” Deora said.
