Grandparent and children

Grandparents often form deep and loving attachments with the children in their lives. If a child has strong bond with their grandparents, they can learn a lot from the older generation. Not only this, children learn the human values from their grandparents. Children who are close to their grandparents often value family as they learn the importance and value of bonding with the family from their grandparents.
Today the role of grandparent is not only to look after their grandchildren but also to provide financial support. The changing role for grandparents can be due to a number of factors like an understandable need for financial assistance, untimely death or illness, family violence, abandonment, etc.
Grandparents can help their grandchildren by
involving yourself in the school life of your grandchild.
Drop and pick your child from school. You can help in their studies such as by reading books to the children or help them to do their homework.
listening them.
Take out time and spend time with their grandchild and also listen to their wishes and try to fulfill them. Don’t interrupt and listen them carefully.
playing games with them.
You can play different games with them. Or you can simply teach them games of your childhood, which they would also like to play with you.
spending time with them.
They would like to listen to jokes, stories, from you. You can even tell your exciting life story to them.
You can also share a little of your past with them –whether through a story, a story in the song.
involving them in daily routine
Include your grandchildren in small projects and chores, this will let them know how much they are important and that you enjoy them. Those everyday tasks actually help them to learn lots of thing in their life. It lays a foundation for their later school years and helps them to create a sharp memory. Don’t interrupt and listen them carefully. They would learn the habit of listening too.

Share their thoughts also. You will discover that children have rich and compelling ideas that reach far beyond what we suspected they knew.
Give lots of love and affection to your grandchild. They will feel secure with you.
You will get lots of happiness in doing so.
