Main characteristics of healthy hair is it shines, swings, feels good when touched, and has no split strands. There are various enemies of hair, which damages the beauty of hair.

The main enemies of hair are: too much sun, deficiency of vitamins, illness or other stresses, certain drugs like sulfa drugs and birth control pills, cosmetic assaults like perming or dyeing. All these leads to various hair problems.

To overcome these problems it is necessary to take care of your hair from these enemies. Certain tips are given below to take care of your hair.

TIPS

Shampooing

The first and the mast important thing to keep your hair healthy is to keep it clean. Remove the dirt and excess sebum from the surface of your hair by shampooing it. Use gentle shampoos for it. Avoid hard shampoo as it damages your hair texture. Never overdo it. Use the shampoo that suits you hair.

Environmental Pollutant

Protect your hair while swimming. As the swimming pools contain Chlorine. Chlorine is a bleach and it have a damaging effect on hair. It damages the texture, color of the hair and also weaken hair at the follicle. So after every swim always rinse your hair out in clean water as chlorine and salt ruin your hair, even more so if your hair is chemically treated.

Rough handling

Rough handling to your hair will damage it. Rough handling may be raking through damp strands with a fine-toothed comb, yanking at tangles, brushing hair 20 times a day, absent mindedly tugging at locks, back combing strands for a fuller finish - these all constitute rough handling, and they are all guaranteed ways to damages fragile tresses.

These may cause hair loss, split ends etc. Take care of your hand while handling it.

Heat styling

If you have severe hair problem then ask any dermatologist or stylist the main cause of damaged hair. One cause may be heat-styling. It causes various hair problems: it lifts those tightly fitting tiles that create cuticle layer, causing small spaces where water and other substances can enter and cause damage. Heat can also damage and remove small chips of the cuticle layer, causing a porous, hole-pocked surface that leaves hair weakened and prone to splitting, fraying, and breaking.

Unbalanced Diet

One of the greatest enemy of healthy hair is unbalanced hair. Our hair need adequate amount of vitamins and minerals.
If we do not include it in our diet then we will face many hair problems. Smoking also increase the incidence of hair loss and the accumulation of gray hair. Intake of excess caffeine also lead to hair loss.

Hair accessories

Ponytail holders, hair slides, combs, clips etc. are the main accessories of hair. Be careful and not use them more then one or three times a week. Wearing your hair every day in the same style can damage the cuticle layer of your hair and cause breakage in those locks that are contained by the accessory.
