Labour Day or commanly called May Day is celebrated all over the world amongst the workers as an annual holiday.

It’s history can be traced to its origin from the early 1856 protest march of building workers and stone masonary workers who stopped their work and marched down from in Australia to their Parliament House for want of an eight hours of working day. They divided the day into three categories of eight hours work, eight hours rest and eight hours recreation.

They succeded in their mission to achieve an eight hour working a day without any loss of their remuneration. This subsequently inspired the Labour Day celebration on 1st of May every year.
