Pay Commission Recomentations

Sixth Pay Commission submitted its report on 24 March 2008.

The main points recommended in the sixth pay commission are -

The number of pay scales will reduce from existing 38 to 16

Implementation will be considered  from 2006 Jan for which no DA will be given.

DA will be given from 2007 Jan

The retirement date will be unified as on Dec 31.

The increments will be given on January.

A notional increment will be given for every 3 years of service.

An employee will be eligible for a maximum of three such increments

Ten percent of the basic will go to PF

HRA will be considered as -

A1 cities 30% of basic and maximum of 12000.

B 1 and B2 15%  (max 8000).

C 7.5% (max 3000)

Unclassified 5% (max 2000)

CCA will be considered as –

 A1 4% (max 1200),

A 3% (max 900),

B1 2% (max 600), 

B2 1% (max 300)

Insurance premium to be paid are:-

A -40, B-200, C-100, D-50

Pension age to stay at 60.

Maximum pension will be 50% of last salary (max 40000).

Family pension will be 30% (24000)

Leave encashment is increased upto 360 days

Commutation will be upto 40%
