Various precautions should be taken while doing yoga. Like always learn yoga under the expert guidance, it should be done at proper time, what should be eaten and at what time etc. are some precautions to be taken.

Here are some precaution to be taken while doing yoga:

1. When to do Yoga?

The best time to practice yoga is in the morning before breakfast. Wake up early, empty the bowels, if you wish take shower, then commence the day with yoga practices. If in case you do not get time in morning you can also do in early evening, around sunset. Pranayama may be practiced at any time of day except within but only 2-3 hours after meals.

2. Place of Practice

It is best to practice yoga in an open and clean place so that you can have fresh air. Never practice yoga in direct sunlight or after sun-bathing. Avoid cold wind and insects.

3. Breathing

Unless specified, always breathe through the nose both in and out.

4. Avoid alcohol or mind altering drugs if you practice yoga daily.

5. Always remove spectacles, watches and ornaments before practicing yoga.

6. Always wear loose comfortable yoga clothing.

7. Always practice yoga on yoga mats.

8. Follow the instruction as given and proceed slowly and carefully.
