Types of Digital Cameras

Digital cameras are among the top selling consumer electronic devices. A digital camera has an electronic sensor that is photosensitive. If you think that images are captured on the film, then make it clear. Images are actually captured on the sensor and not film. Next the photos are stored on a memory card. It can be reviewed and can be easily transferred to a computer for viewing, editing, sending by e-mail and printing.Today several types of cameras are available in the market according to the use. Some may be used by the professional or simply in the home.
Types Digital Cameras
1. Consumer digital cameras
These cameras are compact, lightweight, easy to use and can be carried anywhere with you. These digital cameras are great for point-and-shoot photo taking. These cameras have very good image quality. Depending on features, these cameras are moderately price and number of mega pixels. The ultra compact cameras are costlier than compacts one. These may lack a viewfinder.
2. Entry level digital cameras
Entry level digital camera produces high quality pictures. These cameras come with very impressive feature sets. They are very easy to use but one can not be sure about the quality of these cameras. If you purchase these cameras from “big name” brands then be confident of the quality of the lens and processor.
3. Prosumer digital cameras
These digital cameras have high quality lenses. These cameras also have advanced features for creative control. In some of the models of these cameras you will find mega telephoto zooms lenses while others have wide-angle lenses. The Prosumer digital cameras also have converter lenses, filters, remote controls and external flashes. Some of the zoom cameras have the good features of image stabilization. These digital cameras are moderate to high priced.
4. Digital Single Lens Reflex cameras
These high-featured cameras are generally used by professionals and photo enthusiasts. These digital cameras have sophisticated accessories like an outstanding optics, produce high-resolution images and accept interchangeable lenses. These cameras function automatically but also have a full range of manual controls. These may not come with lenses, which are to be purchased separately. These cameras are high priced.
5. Single Use Digital Camera
These cameras are inexpensive. But these are not widely available.
