  I RETIRED WITH BASIC PENSION OF Rs10640 ON 31.12.2002 FROM THE PAY SCALE OF 18400-22400, THE LAST BASIC PAY DRAWN BEING 21400. WHAT WOULD BE MY PENSION CALCULATED BASED UPON THE 50% OF THE PAY FIXED FOR BASIC PAY OF 21400 IN PAY BAND 4 AS ON 1.1.2006.

  It’s fine that the UGC has suggested the pay hike for the college and university teachers, but it’s the state govt that must take the lead to implement the recommendations.I’m sure that the state govts will try to drag their feet until the Centre prepares to share the fiscal responsibility.The Maharashtra govt for instance has written to the Centre to pledge to replenish its coffers to implement the pay commission recommendations.Who should oversee the implementation of the pay scales?
