80% Americans under stress due to financial crisis: Survey

It seems the financial meltdown is roiling the American psyche. 

Yes, not only on jobs and stock markets, the economic downturn has taken a heavy toll on the physical and emotional health of Americans as well.

In fact, if a survey is to be believed, more than eight in ten Americans blame the declining state of the United States economy for much of the stress in their life, with health experts warning of possible serious fallout.

According to the survey by the American Psychological Association, nearly 80 per cent of people in the US are too much stressed about their personal finances and the economy.

The survey was conducted between April and September this year that is before the passage of the USD 700 billion bailout bill last week and Monday’s stock market tumble.

“With the deteriorating economy dominating the headline, it’s easy to worry more about your finances than your health, but stress over money and the economy is taking an emotional and physical toll on America especially in women. READ MORE….
