There are few major anomalies in the pay commission as far as defence officer are concerned.
(a) all officers from grade A ser with a basic of Rs 8000 have been given abasic of Rs 15,600 whereas a Lt in indian Army or equivalent with a starting basic of Rs 8250 have been given a basic of Rs 14,600. reason not understood.
(b) A major or equivalent with a starting basic of Rs 11,600 (above S- 20) have been equated with a class A offr in scale S- 19 having a basic of Rs 10,000 placed even below the scale of Rs 10,650 (S-20). Thus losing out both in terms of basic as well as grade pay vis a vis to their civilian counterparts. Same is the case with Lt cols and Colonels.
(c) DG BSF & DGs of other pramilitary forces ve been given a basic of Rs 80,000 whereas a Lt Gen in Army or equivalent ve been given a basic of Rs 72,00 approx. It is contrary to the order of precedency as all Lt Generals are higher in Precedence than all DGs of paramilitary forces.
