Some of the key highlights of the Sixth Pay Commission are as follows:
- Proposed implementation date for the revised pay scales is January 1, 2006.
- Minimum salary at entry level to be Rs 6,600 per month, and a maximum of Rs 80,000 per month.
- Total number of grades reduced to 20.
- Annual increments date set at July 1.
