Indian Airlines mega fares deal.

The world economic crisis and the dramatic fall in oil prices have sparked a price war within the Indian airline industry.
Indian Airlines, Jet Airways and Kingfisher Airlines have all announced cuts in domestic Indian air fares with almost immediate effect. Discounts range from 15%-40% with Jet Airways with Kingfisher offering 15%-20% reductions. The actual reduction will depend on the availability of seats at the various levels of discount at the time of booking. On the international market Singapore Airlines have reduced some fares up to a staggering 52% on some flights from Singapore to Indian destinations.
It is likely that some of the low cost carriers in India will follow suit and slash fares, until they do they are likely to be offering fares at a level that are seen to be uncompetitive.
