Pay Review Committee of UGC submits its report

Finally the Pay Review Committee of UGC submitted its report ending months of uncertainty. University teachers and other staff were disappointed when the Chadha committee did not submit its report last month prompting teachers union to organize large scale protests against the delay of sixth pay commission for professors, lecturers and other university and college employees.

The Khabrein Info. writes “But the submission of report will certainly give a boost to sagging morale of university teachers who were feeling neglected and let down by the University Grant Commission.

A dejected Delhi University professor in a response wrote, “Dear Prof. Chaddha, Rather than promising too much, please announce your recommendations as soon as possible. It is mental bankruptcy on the part of the UGC to refer so many complicated issues of the higher education to the Committee. They should have created two committees with some kind of coordination. It would have hastened the process”.

But as the report of Pay Review Committee of UGC is finally out, teachers should have a sigh of relief. READ MORE..

    sir i could not find basic pay of Associate professor (Reader) as in the sixth pay review committee of ugc submits its report, you have mentioned basic pay of Asst professor and Professor. what about Associate Professor? this pay review committee report is biased and injustice to Associate professor (Reader). kindly made necessory corrections and resubmit the report

    I am a selection Grade Lecturer, currently my basic scale is 16,200/- and gross salary is over 36000/-. What will be my basic scale and the gross salary as per the UGC revised scale ( 15600-39100) designed by the 6th UGC pay (Chadha committee)

    Dear Sir,

    The 6th pay commission has done injustice to the University Reader cadre. I hope, the committee will take proper measure to place Reader’s pay band at higher level. They are the pillers of any academic
    institution.

    ugc is not consedering self-financing teachers and self-financing institutions.This will affect the whole system in future.Can you think about it in a right way.ugc can consider the above in a right manner to impart the quality education.
