Given to understand that the Maharashtra State Govt. would not hesitate to implement the recommendations of the 6th CPC, we were extremely happy. Now, with just a few states coming forwad to implement this scheme, we are just a worried lot. I work for Maharashtra State Govt. and I am due to retire on 31.12.2008 on a lumpsum scheme. All I would take with me is finally the enhanced Gratuity of Rs.10 lakhs if at all the Maharashtra State govt. does approve the 6th CPC. Can anyone highlight this problem to the Govt. authorities concerned? Awaiting your feedback eagerly. Thanks.

I would suggest that the Maharashtra government to acept the Sixh pay commission’s recommendations as the govt is committed to go by the central governments fiat, especially in the changing context of economy, and varying prioritizations of the people who have turned more and more progressive in out look, and eaglitarian in perceptions.Maharashtra has always been the vanguard of any economic measure that goes to ecnomic empowermeant of its people.I hope Mr Vilasrao Deshmukh, the chief minister will establish and firm up his commitment.

The govt of Maharshtra is still to take a step in the right direction by readying itself to implement the UGC suggested new pay scales to college and university teachers without much fuss and without indulging in the filibustering tactics since any action of denial comes close to the dislodging of fundamental rights of the people. The teachers of Maharashtra deserve a better deal, and there’s no need to test their patience further by refusing to accede to their rightful demands. Will the Chief minister look into the genuine rights of the teaching community to reassure them that their legitimate demands would forthwith be addressed to.
