Wrestler Sushil Kumar Wins Bronze-second medal at Beijing Olympics for India. Kumar won the medal after his excellent show in the three-round repechage match of 66kg men’s freestyle wrestling event.
The Hindu writes in its news “Sushil Kumar and another wrestler in the 56-kg category were being sponsored by SAIL, which will continue to do so till the 2010 Commonwealth Games here.
Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dixit and Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad have also announced cash rewards for Kumar.
While Dixit said the Delhi government will give Rs 50 lakhs to the wrestler, Prasad said the Railways, with which Kumar is employed, will be given an amount of Rs 55 lakhs along with a promotion.”
