Tamil nadu implements sixth pay commission

Tamil Nadu Government has annouced implementation of Sixth Pay Commission. The Salient Features include :

30% Pay Hike in Salary 

House Rent Allowance and City Compensatory Allowance will be doubled, while the same are granted for the first time to all employees on Special Time Scales of Pay including the noon meal workers

Medical Allowance has been revised from Rs 50 to Rs 100 per month.


Ceiling limit of Death-cum-Retiring Gratuity has been enhanced from Rs 3.5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh on par with Central government.

Arrears in the pay revision after adjustment of interim arrears will be paid in three equal instalments.

Daily allowance has also been doubled.

    i realy thank the tamil nadu govt for for it gesture in having implementing the pay commiossion in time and the benifit that all of we are enjoying our sincer thanks and gratitude to indiuals resposibble for it cos not like last pay commisission which took about 5 year to settle the the difrencess we wish and pray those responsible and long and prosperous journey in the govt and years of healthy life to person concern

    1.1.2006 Basic pay Rs.3795 P.P. Rs.160

    25.11.2006 Basic Pay Rs.4300 P.P.Rs.160
