First Looks - The Canon SX10 is quite big in dimensions , looks like heavy professional camera. The dimensions of SX10 are 4.88 x 3.48 x 3.42 inches (124.0 x 88.3 x 86.9mm). The weight is again heavy and it weighs 560 grams (19.8 ounces).

In front of camera you have lens and above lens is pop out flash. On right and left of lens and flash are stereo micro phones. Right of lens is auto focus assist lamp.

On the back side is 2.5 inches LCD which is small compared to these days cameras. The LCD can be taken out just like camcorders. In centre of LCD and above it is digital viewfinder. To the left is custom key which can be assigned any function. To the right is video recording button.

To the right of LCD is 4 way dial with Manual Focus (up), Macro (left), ISO (right) and Burst Mode or Self-timer (down). The centre button is function set menu. Below 4 way dial is Display and Menu buttons. On the top right are Play, Exposure Compensation and AF Frame Selection.

On the top of camera on left is Flash / Microphone button. In the centre is shoe for adding flash. To right of shoe is mode dial. On its far right is on/off. In front of this is shutter button with zoom toggle.

Items included in the package are Camera, 4 AA Size Alkaline Batteries, Interface Cable IFC-400CPU, Stereo Video Cable, Neck Strap, Lens cap, Lens hood and Solution Disk.

The camera supports SD , SDHC, Multimedia cards, MMCPlus Cards and HCMMCPlus Cards. The Maximum support is 32GB. There is seprate slot for memory cards.

The Max movie record time is 4GB or one hour which ever reaches earliar.

Features - The Zoom works pretty well from 28-560mm. This is one of the biggest feature of this camera. The LCD size is small for this class of camera. It should be more. The rotation and movement of LCD allows you to shoot at difficult angles. The 10 mega pixel of this camera is just meets the requirement for this camera.

Honestly, while they aren't 5D-quality (another 12 MP camera) they are genuinely excellent.
