Sixth Pay Commission Approved

The Government announced the implementation of Sixth Pay Commission with effect from 1-1-2006. The average increase will be 21% for all central government employees. The rate of annual increment has been increased from 2.5% to 3%.
Government has also increased minimum salary from 6600 to 7000. The Salary Arrears will be paid in two installment. One installment will be paid this fiscal year and another in 2009-10. The increased salary will be paid from september 2008.
